Establishment of an overhaul factory for dry vacuum pumps in Dresden

EBARA Precision Machinery Europe (headquarters: Germany, hereinafter referred to as EPME), an overseas group company of Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as EBARA), will build EPME's second dry vacuum pump overhaul factory in Weickdorf, Dresden (Germany).

2-1 Overview

EPME sells and services dry vacuum pumps and turbo molecular pumps in the precision and electronics business, CMP equipment used in chip manufacturing in semiconductor manufacturing, and exhaust gas treatment equipment used in the chemical industry, mainly in the European market.
The company's first overhaul factory opened in Livingston, Scotland in 1993. Here we overhaul dry vacuum pumps from Ebara and other manufacturers.
Dresden is a high-tech city known as "Silicon Saxony". EPME's Dresden site plays a central role in the European market for precision electronics products and currently houses the company's offices and warehouse. The overhaul factory will be built next to the office and is scheduled for completion in spring 2021. The site area is 800 m2 and the investment costs amount to approximately 1.6 million euros.

Dr. Reinhart Richter, Managing Director of EPME, had this to say about the project: “These are unpredictable Covid-19 times, but we need to look forward and grow our business. With EPME establishing a new overhaul factory, Ebara is sending a positive message that it will be able to respond more quickly to growing market demand."

3. Future developments

With the establishment of the new overhaul factory, the EBARA Group will contribute to the evolution of semiconductor products that support the smartification of society as outlined in the company's long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030," through the development of manufacturing equipment and devices.

By addressing key ESG issues based on its long-term vision and medium-term management plan, the EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further improve its corporate value.
