Establishment of new department and appointment of new executive officer to promote business innovation and digital transformation
Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") has set out to further speed up management and improve quality in its long-term vision "E-Vision 2030" and medium-term management plan "E-Plan 2022," which were formulated in February of this year.
To achieve this, the company will make the following organizational and personnel changes to strengthen digital transformation (DX) aimed at optimizing business management on a group and global basis and transforming manufacturing processes using IoT.
(1) Promoting business innovation
As of April 1, the Business Process Innovation Department and the Global Procurement and SCM Strategy Department will be established under the Business Innovation Management Department*1 to develop strategies and build structures for restructuring the EBARA Group's global business operations, optimizing the procurement system, and reducing costs, as aimed at in E-Plan 2022.
(2) Strengthening digital transformation (DX)
At the board of directors meeting held on March 27, Hiroyuki Kowase, General Manager of the Information and Communications Division, was appointed as a new Executive Officer. In his career, Kowasey has extensive knowledge of digital transformation, including ERP, which is to be implemented company-wide in E-Plan 2022.
(3) Promoting diversity
In order to secure the highly specialized human resources necessary for implementing our strategies, EBARA is promoting the recruitment, training and promotion of talented personnel regardless of age, nationality, etc. Kowase is Ebara's first mid-career hire with advanced expertise to be promoted to an executive position.
Also, on March 27th, Michael Lodi, in charge of the compressor and turbine business at the Hydro-Fuel Machinery Company, was appointed as Ebara's first foreign executive officer.
Ebara will continue to actively strengthen digital transformation and diversity, promote change, and strive to improve corporate value.
Hirowyuki Kowase Biography
After serving as head of the information systems division at Kao Corporation and as senior executive officer, CIO and general manager of information systems at LIXIL Corporation, he joined Ebara Corporation in December 2018 and has been general manager of the Information and Communications Division since April 2019.
Newly established in January 2019. We will promote business process optimization, diversity, and work style reform to create an environment in which employees can think outside the box and take on new challenges.
