Ebara Corporation (hereinafter "Ebara") and Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Honda") have recently collaborated for the first time in Brazil, with Honda beginning sales of a gasoline-driven Engine Cast Pump equipped with an Ebara pump in February.

1. Background and Objectives

Ebara established its first overseas production base in Brazil in 1975, and is now known as EBARA Bombas América do Sul Ltda.80 or less This laid the foundation for the establishment of EBAS*. Meanwhile, Honda's history in Brazil began in earnest with its motorcycle factory (hereinafter referred to as the "Manaus Factory") located in Manaus, the capital of Amazonas state in northwestern Brazil, which was established in 1976, so the history of the two companies in Brazil is roughly the same age. As Japanese companies living in the same era in Brazil, we have teamed up after about 45 years since the start of operations to contribute to the supply of water in Brazil, including irrigation and domestic water supply in areas without electricity.

Product overview

The pumps that EBAS will supply to Honda will be produced at the EBAS factory in Vargem Grande do Sul (VGS), located approximately 250 km northeast of São Paulo state. The vehicles are then shipped from the VGS plant to Honda's Manaus plant where they are assembled with Honda engines. In addition, pumps supplied by EBAS are engraved with the THEBE brand logo, indicating that they are made by EBAS, and this is the first time that Honda has produced a product bearing the logos of both companies.
EBAS's sturdy cast iron pumps have earned a high level of trust from consumers.

3. Product Features

We have launched three pump models, which are suitable for a wide range of applications, from home use to agricultural watering.
1) The casing is made of durable cast iron, lightweight (24-33kg), compact and easy to carry.
2) Pump bore: 25-65mm, Maximum flow rate: 8.2-36.1m3/min, maximum total head: 26-70m
3) ISO9000 certified
4) Stable pump performance thanks to Honda's unique 4-stroke engine

4. Our Future Developments

The Engine Cast pump package will be sold under the Honda brand through Honda's sales and distribution network in Brazil, and EBAS will also cooperate in expanding sales channels. EBAS is responsible for quality control and assurance of the quality of the individual pumps.
Since their founding, Ebara and Honda have shared a common passion and commitment to technology and manufacturing, and will continue to contribute to improving the lives of as many people as possible in the vast Brazilian market.

The Ebara Group will continue to contribute to solving social issues, including the SDGs, through its business, and will simultaneously increase social and environmental value as well as economic value.
