First exhibit at "Ohta Research and Development Fair" Seeking external partners for collaboration using radiation graft polymerization technology

Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") will be exhibiting for the first time at the "Ohta Research and Development Fair"*1, which will be held online from October 22nd. We will introduce our proprietary technology for synthesizing functional polymer materials, "radiation graft polymerization technology," and are looking for external partners interested in jointly developing application products.

1. Background

In the new business strategy set out in its medium-term management plan "E-Plan 2022," EBARA aims to identify new social needs from a market-in perspective and provide solutions to customers that utilize the technologies it possesses. To achieve this goal, our newly established Marketing Division will play a central role in proactively exploring collaborations with external research institutes and other companies, including venture capital firms.

2-1 Overview

Ota Ward, where Ebara is headquartered, is home to as many as 4,200 small and medium-sized manufacturing companies. The Ota Research and Development Fair, an exhibition that has been held since 2011, coordinates matching with companies in Ota Ward and provides a place of encounter for the creation of next-generation industries and innovation.
The "radiation graft polymerization technology" that EBARA will introduce this time is a technology that the company has possessed for about 35 years, and is a unique technology that can add new functions such as adsorption, deodorization, antibacterial properties, and catalyst properties to materials such as nonwoven fabrics and nets made of synthetic resins such as polyethylene and nylon.
At the exhibition, we will introduce application development examples together with ECE Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ECE), our group company that handles graft polymerization technology and products, and call for external collaboration.
In addition, at the fair, we will introduce our patented technologies*2 and solicit patent utilization.

3. Future developments

As an external partner for graft polymerization technology, we are able to undertake the entire process from sample creation to prototyping and mass production with ECE, which develops graft polymerization processing.
We will continue to actively collaborate with external parties through the technologies we possess, and create new businesses and solutions that contribute to society.

By addressing key ESG issues based on our long-term vision and medium-term management plan, the EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further improve its corporate value.
