Implementing referral recruitment

Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") has set promoting the active participation of diverse human resources as part of its human resources strategy in its long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030." We are implementing referral hiring in order to become a company where diverse employees can feel motivated and comfortable in their work and thrive.

1. Background

Ebara has been implementing referral hiring since 2019. In recent years, competition for new graduates and career hires has intensified, and the younger generation in particular is a difficult generation to recruit due to the declining birthrate and aging population. By implementing referral hiring, it is possible to reduce mismatches between companies and employees and improve retention rates after joining the company. It is also possible to approach talent that is not on the job market, which is expected to result in the recruitment of a more diverse range of talent.

2. Referral hiring track record

  • Start date: September 2019~
  • Accepted job offers: 17 people (as of October 2020)
  • Career hires: 3 people
  • 2021 new graduate hires: 14 people

3. Future developments

EBARA aims to expand opportunities to acquire diverse human resources and to create a work environment in which employees can work with high motivation. Currently, referral hiring is being implemented for some job openings, mainly for young employees, but in the future, we plan to introduce it to all job openings at Ebara.

Based on our long-term vision and medium-term management plan, the Ebara Group will promote the utilization of human resources by improving the job satisfaction and work environment of our diverse employees, and further increase our corporate value.

※Referral hiring: A recruitment method in which employees introduce new employees to others. Since the introductions are made by employees who have a good understanding of the company, it is possible to recruit personnel who are more suitable for the company. Applicants can also hear about the company's current situation from employees, which will help them gain a deeper understanding of the company and prevent mismatches after joining the company.
