Regarding new graduate recruitment for 2022

Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") will begin holding company information sessions for university graduates in 2022 from late November. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's recruitment activities will be the first year in which the entire recruitment process, including information sessions and interviews for each university, will be conducted online, both domestically and overseas.

1. Background

Since 2017, we have transitioned our employee personnel system to a ranking system that evaluates employees based on their roles and duties, rather than on ability, which tends to be based on seniority. In line with this, we have also begun recruiting new graduates by job type starting this fiscal year. We are also focusing on developing human resources to enhance our competitiveness in the global market, and are actively recruiting at universities overseas, including in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and India. This year, we have introduced an October hiring schedule, primarily for students who have graduated from overseas universities, and by implementing recruitment that is not tied to the time of joining, we are increasing our global recruitment competitiveness and the diversity of our workforce.

2-1 Overview

Our plan for recruiting new graduates in 2022 (spring and fall) is to hire 100 people, the same number as this year, and online company information sessions and interviews will be the standard recruitment method both domestically and internationally. In recruiting new graduates, our policy is to acquire students who will become future leaders and core personnel, and to develop them into professionals from an early stage. As with this year, there will be no open recruitment quotas, and applicants will be hired and placed according to their desired job type. By establishing a system of job-specific hiring of new graduates, we will further strengthen the operation of the role ranking system.

3. Future developments

In our long-term vision, "E-Vision 2030," we aim to promote the active participation of our human resources and to become a global, excellent company where diverse employees can thrive, feeling motivated and comfortable in their work, in order to realize a "corporate culture that competes and challenges." Going forward, we will further address issues related to a truly merit-based personnel system (promotion, evaluation, and treatment) and flexible working styles that are not limited by location or time constraints.

By addressing key ESG issues based on our long-term vision and medium-term management plan, the EBARA Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further increase our corporate value.
