Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA") held an online symposium on "Products and Process Innovation through Computational Science and Optimization" on October 21 entitled "The 5th Ebara Open Innovation Symposium on Computational Science & amp; Optimization for Advanced Products & amp; Processes" with prominent teachers from Japan. The symposium was held on
The 5th EOI Symposium on Computational Science and Optimization
1. Background and Objectives
EBARA is developing the activities of EHU*1 which fosters human resources who support technological development. The EOI*2 Symposium, which is one of the technical human resource development programs implemented by the EU, is positioned as a "forum for the joint creation of academic-academic collaboration that connects academia and businesses that transcend technology fields."
The supercomputer, represented by Tomitake, which achieved the world's fastest computing speed in June 2020, has continued to increase its computing speed at a pace of 10 times in three to four years in the past 30 years. Driven by the technological innovation behind this trend, top-class computers in the manufacturing industry are also accelerating at almost the same pace. Through these dramatic technological innovations, innovations in manufacturing processes and product development backed by manufacturing processes, such as substitution of high-precision simulations, optimization to extract optimal solutions from numerous designs, and construction of design engineering technologies including multiple technology fields related to each other, are predicted with high accuracy.
at this symposium, we held this symposium for the purpose of sharing the latest trends in "manufacturing" and "manufacturing" such as computational science and optimization technologies and new design processes that utilize them, and making use of them in EBARA's future technologies.
2. Overview
this symposium. The three sessions included a lecture on the frontlines of computational science and numerical optimization by the teachers, their impact on industry, and innovation in the process of manufacturing with products. Researchers at EBARA also announced efforts to innovate products through flow control and process innovation through multi-purpose optimization.
