Development of pumps for data centers through business alliances with air conditioning equipment manufacturers in the United States

EBARA Pumps Americas Corporation (EPAC), an overseas group company of Ebara Corporation (hereafter: Ebara), which develops business in North America, has signed a business partnership agreement with a major air conditioner set manufacturer* that develops heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment in the United States, and has developed special specification pumps for chillers (coolers) for data centers. The order amount is approximately 100 million yen.

1. Background

In the US market, industries such as HVAC, transportation, and data communication continue to grow, and construction of data center facilities is increasing as a result. Along with that, demand for chillers (coolers) and other ancillary equipment is also increasing, and pump sales to set manufacturers that manufacture important equipment such as chillers are also expanding. Over the past 3 years, EPAC's set maker business has achieved fivefold growth in terms of sales.

2-1 Overview

EPAC's set maker business has strengthened cooperation with the EBARA Pumps Europe Industrial Business Unit (IBU) team and expanded sales channels in the US market. This time, we have collaborated with IBU to develop customized products according to customer needs, even for pumps for chiller systems that have formed a business partnership. In addition to effectively reducing manufacturing costs, we have succeeded in increasing the reliability of pumps and motors and essentially improving chillers manufactured by set manufacturers in order to achieve a reduction in power consumption, which is the client's request.

3. Future developments

In the medium-term management plan “E-Plan 2022,” we have set measures that match each market strategy and are strengthening our efforts to maximize profitability. Going forward, we will continue to increase reliability in the North American market for set makers, realize innovative solutions and production efficiency and rationalization, and contribute to the realization of a highly evolved society. By tackling important

ESG issues based on its long-term vision and medium-term management plan, the Ebara Group aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and further enhance corporate value.
