President's New Year's Address (Summary)


Today, January 7, 2019, the 155th fiscal year will begin.

The 155th fiscal year, fiscal 2019, is the final year of the medium-term management plan E-Plan 2019 that is currently being implemented. In order to achieve consolidated sales of 700 billion yen and high profitability of an operating profit ratio of 10% or more by the mid-2020s, the first three years of E-Plan 2019 have the primary goal of improving the profitability of the entire group, rather than expanding sales.
In addition, fiscal 2019 is the year in which the Ebara Group will formulate its long-term vision for 2030 and its new medium-term management plan that will start next year, making it a somewhat busier fiscal year than usual.

Now, we expect that the political and economic situation in the world in 2019 will continue to be uncertain both domestically and internationally, as it was last year. In such a situation, all we can do is to focus on the long-term vision of the EBARA Group, aim to realize it, and use our experience, knowledge, abilities, and execution power to the maximum extent possible to carry out our business by accumulating one result at a time.
When considering how to operate a business that reduces risks and seizes opportunities in the current rapidly changing business environment, we believe that the answer is to quickly detect signs of change and respond to them with swift, agile business execution.
In order to carry out swift and agile business execution,
① Building efficient, productive business processes that are free of waste and strain
② Appropriate personnel allocation
③ Establishing an information transmission network using ICT that connects business processes
④ And implementing accurate communication between the executives and employees responsible for these
are important.

Because our business environment is so volatile, in order to quickly detect signs of change and respond to them with speed and agility, you must regularly report, consult, and communicate in a variety of ways, including using ICT.
Improving communication is also extremely important for further advancing our ongoing efforts to promote diversity and work style reform.

Let's work hard this year to achieve the goals of E-Plan 2019.
