Since June 2018,

Ebara Corporation (EBARA) has been conducting joint research with a Major in Product Design, Faculty of Arts, Women's Art University (hereinafter referred to as "the University of Women's Art"). On March 22, 2019, we held a meeting to present the results of our joint research over a period of approximately 10 months.

1. Background and Objectives

As an industrial machinery manufacturer,

EBARA has been developing products and technologies for over 100 years, delivering a lot of value to society. In recent years, as society develops, the needs for products and services have diversified, and we believe that business operations, including software as well as hardware, are required.

2-1 Overview

At the

presentations, the themes related to environmental awareness in the environmental plant business and the pumps related themes in the standard pump business were presented. Not only individual functions and ease of use, but also suggestions from the user's point of view. All participants were once again aware of the relationship between EBARA's products and services and society.

3. Future developments

In the future, the labor environment in Japan is expected to increase the employment of foreigners and elderly people due to the labor force shortage, which consists of a declining population and a declining birthrate and an aging population. This proposal from the Women's College of Fine Arts reminds us of the excitement of the user's perspective and the user's ease of use of our products, which prioritize conventional technical thinking. EBARA will continue to engage in industry-academia collaboration with the University of Women's Art and to promote technological development that supports the sustainable development of society from a new viewpoint in software.
