Joined the Clean Ocean Materials Alliance (CLOMA)

EBARA Environmental Plant Co., Ltd. (Head office: Ota-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Watanabe Yoshio; hereinafter referred to as EBARA Environmental Plant), a group company of EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as EBARA), has joined the Clean Ocean Material Alliance (hereinafter referred to as CLOMA).

1. Background and Objectives

Recycling waste plastics is important in contributing to combating global warming and reducing the use of fossil fuels, and EBARA Environmental Plant has been developing chemical recycling technologies for waste plastics. In the future, through CLOMA, which promotes sustainable development across industry boundaries, we will make effective use of the various technologies possessed by the EBARA Environmental Plant to contribute to solving the problem of waste plastics, including marine plastics, which is a common problem worldwide.

2. Overview

CLOMA is an organization established in January 2019 to tackle the new global environmental issue of marine plastic waste. Currently, there are approximately 260 member companies and organizations.
