Employee cafeterias at four business locations obtain certification under the Healthy Meals and Food Environment Certification System

The employee cafeterias at Ebara Corporation's (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") Futtsu, Fujisawa and Sodegaura facilities have been certified as third-term certification scheme businesses under the Healthy Meals and Food Environment Certification Scheme implemented by the Healthy Meals and Food Environment Consortium, which is composed of the Japanese Society of Nutrition and Dietetics and other organizations. Following the Haneda facility, which was the first facility to be certified under the certification system, four locations have now been certified.
1. Background and Objectives
The "Healthy Meals and Food Environment Certification System" is a system that examines and certifies restaurants and establishments that continually provide "healthy meals (smart meals)" in healthy environments (environments that provide nutritional information and take measures to prevent passive smoking, etc.) for eating out, ready-made meals, and company lunches. In September 2015, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare issued a notice regarding the promotion of "healthy eating" to support the longevity of Japanese people, and based on the "Guidelines for meals to be provided for the purpose of preventing lifestyle-related diseases and promoting other health" set out therein, the Healthy Meals and Food Environment Consortium, which is made up of 13 academic societies including the Japanese Society of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Japanese Society of Hypertension, and the Japan Diabetes Society, will review and certify the products. Based on our CSR policy of "creating a safe, secure and comfortable workplace," EBARA is working to create and maintain a workplace environment that is mindful of health and safety, including the realization of work-life balance and the promotion of mental health. We believe that this year, as in the first event, our efforts in the employee cafeteria, one of the measures, were recognized.
2-1 Overview
In the employee cafeterias at each business site, we run programs throughout the year for all employees to promote health and prevent and improve lifestyle-related diseases while having fun.
