Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Ebara") held a symposium on cavitation entitled "The 3rd EBARA Open Innovation Symposium on Cavitation (hereinafter referred to as "EOI※1 Symposium)" at its Haneda headquarters for two days from October 31st to November 1st, inviting renowned Japanese professors in the field of fluid mechanics.

1. Background and Objectives

The third EOI Symposium will be held in the future, and will provide a forum for Ebara researchers and engineers and specialists in the field of hydro-power engineering to go beyond the boundaries of technical fields and understand each other's research content and connections, thereby promoting industry-academia collaboration and technological application. Through this exchange, our goal is to introduce technologies and products backed by academic research results to the market and contribute to society.

2-1 Overview

The EOI Symposium was attended by 12 professors and nearly 100 employees over two days. There were three sessions covering the themes of cavitation prevention technology, cavitation analysis models, and design technology. During the event, we held a lecture and panel discussion to consider business issues and how to solve them.

3. Future developments

The EOI Symposium, which contributes to the promotion of technological development, is planned and held as part of the activities of EHU (Ebara Hi-tech University). EHU will continue to strive to improve the technological capabilities of industry and academia through lectures by domestic and international researchers with whom it has ties through joint research at EOL (Ebara Open Laboratory), as well as through events to learn about cutting-edge technology and research and development.

A unique open innovation format in which young researchers are trained within external research institutions while conducting joint research to solve advanced technological issues.
※2. EHU (Ebara Hi-tech University)
An initiative to promote the improvement of the skills of researchers and engineers and the creation of new research ideas by learning cutting-edge knowledge and technology.
