Tour of the Kinugawa River upstream dam facilities held

1. Background and Objectives
EBARA supports the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "promotion of securing and training workers in the construction industry" and holds site tours for children. In addition, fourth graders are learning in social studies classes about where the water around us comes from and how it gets to our taps. The purpose of this tour is to deepen the understanding of the dam-related facilities in the area where they live and the people who work there, and to tell them about Ebara's business by directly seeing the large pumps and other equipment that are not usually seen.
Overview of the Facility
This facility connects the Ijuri Dam and the Kawaji Dam with a tunnel (water conduit) in the mountains, and adjusts the water volume of both dams. Because Isori Dam has a small storage capacity, when water accumulates it can be transferred through a tunnel to Kawaji Dam, which has a larger storage capacity. Conversely, if the water level in Isori Dam is low, water can be sent back from Kawaji Dam. Ebara's pumps are responsible for this water supply. The elementary school students went down to the pump room, located about 45 meters below ground level, and learned about the role of the giant pump while touching it.

3. Future developments
This tour marked its fourth time. EBARA will continue to value communication with many stakeholders. As a top manufacturer of pumps, we will continue to have a competitive and challenging mindset and contribute to solving our customers' problems and developing reliable infrastructure facilities.
The EBARA Group will work on medium-term management plans and key ESG issues to further improve its corporate value based on its management policy, and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
