Our group company Ebara Environmental Plant Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Ebara Environmental Plant) and MARTIN GmbH für Umwelt- und Energietechnik (hereinafter referred to as MARTIN) are pleased to announce that they have signed a partnership agreement in the Japanese waste incineration energy market.
By acquiring exclusive rights to MARTIN reverse-flow stoker incinerators for new projects and large-scale facility renewal projects, Ebara Environmental Plant will continue to expand its expertise in the waste incineration energy market and strengthen its market position and portfolio by leveraging its world-renowned waste treatment technology.
Under the partnership agreement, the two companies will work closely together to introduce the latest MARTIN reverse-flow incineration technology to Japan and further develop MARTIN technology.

Founded in 1912, Ebara Environmental Plant is a part of the Ebara Group, and provides total solutions in the field of waste treatment, from facility design and construction to maintenance and operation. To ensure the safe use of facilities over the long term, we have established an integrated system of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and operation and maintenance (O&M). Based on our corporate philosophy of "providing outstanding technologies and services related to solid waste treatment and contributing to the creation of a sustainable society," we have provided equipment for over 440 facilities both in Japan and overseas, including stoker furnaces, fluidized bed furnaces, and other treatment methods, and are currently contracted to operate and manage approximately 80 facilities in Japan. As of December 31, 2017 the company had 2,046 employees.

For more than 90 years MARTIN GmbH has been active as general contractor, consortium partner, equipment supplier or engineering partner in the area of burning challenging fuels such as low-rank coal and waste materials. The heart of these plants, the stoker incinerators, are specifically designed and built by MARTIN. To date, we have delivered Martin reverse-flow stoker incinerators to a total of more than 420 locations (more than 800 lines) in waste treatment facilities in 34 countries around the world, treating nearly 300,000 tons of general waste per day. MARTIN also has extensive knowledge of critical equipment and systems such as waste heat boilers.
With a strong focus on research and development, all projects are backed by years of experience and continuous R&D. Service, spare parts supply, upgrading and life extension are all part of the MARTIN portfolio. Today, the fourth generation family-run business employs around 250 people, most of whom work at its headquarters in Munich.
