EOI International Symposium Held

In May 2018, Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Ebara) held its first international symposium entitled "The 1st Ebara Open Innovation International Symposium on CMP" at its Fujisawa facility, inviting eight prominent researchers from Japan and abroad who have conducted joint research in the field of CMP.
Under the slogan "BRDIP + ABA"^※, Ebara is engaged in research and development that contributes to business and activities that contribute to academia and associations. In 2010, we launched EOI (Ebara Open Innovation), a project to conduct research and development in collaboration with external research institutes. We currently conduct research and development activities in collaboration with over 30 universities and 50 laboratories. The main purpose of this symposium was to have invited speakers give systematic lectures on the contents of the joint research to business division and corporate researchers, and to have lively discussions, thereby deepening mutual understanding and friendship among the parties involved and encouraging the revitalization of the research content.

The invited speakers were Professor Babu (Clarkson University, USA), Professor Park (Hanyang University, Korea), Professor Chen (National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan), Professor Kim (Sungkyunkwan University, Korea), Professor Amaya (Gunma University), Professor Fukuma (Kanazawa University), Associate Professor Suzuki (Nagoya University), and Associate Professor Sanada (Shizuoka University). The symposium was held entirely in English, and over 100 employees, mainly from the Precision Machinery Company, participated.
Ebara will continue to advance research and development using Open Innovation to strengthen the competitiveness of each business.

※ “BRDIP + ABA” 1) BRDIP: Ebara’s slogan combining Business, R&D and IP. It is called "Bull Dip."
2) ABA: Ebara's slogan, standing for Academy, Business and Associations. Called "Aba."
