Effortlessly inspection pump wins the "Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award"

The vertical shaft pump (hereinafter referred to as the "Rakuraku Inspection Pump"), which was developed by EBARA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "EBARA"), which makes it easy to inspect and replace submersible bearings, received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award (Technology Development Category) at the 1st Infrastructure Maintenance Awards*1.
By devising the position of the submersible bearing*2, which is an important part of the pump, Ebara's Raku Inspection Pump makes it easy to inspect and replace the submersible bearing from the bottom of the pump.
Vertical shaft pumps, which are often used in drainage stations, need to be regularly inspected and replaced in order to be able to operate at any time in case of emergencies such as heavy rain. In the case of conventional vertical shaft pumps, it is necessary to pull up and disassemble the pump during inspection and replacement. With the introduction of this pump, the work period for inspection and replacement of submersible bearings can be significantly shortened to about 1/10, and maintenance and management costs can be reduced.
EBARA will continue to contribute to the construction of safe social infrastructure through the development of various technologies.
This year's award-winning Raku Inspection Pump will be introduced at the Sewerage Exhibition to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from August 1st.
*1 Infrastructure Maintenance Grand Prize
The Infrastructure Maintenance Grand Prize has been implemented by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism since this year to disseminate the concept of maintenance to the public, and is an award that recognizes outstanding initiatives and technological development related to infrastructure maintenance.
*2 Submersible bearings
Bearings are the parts that support the shaft that rotates the impeller of the pump, so they are the parts of the pump that have a lot of wear and tear, and they need to be inspected and replaced regularly.
