Factory location agreement concluded with Nankan Town, Kumamoto Prefecture - Expanding Kumamoto Factory, the core production plant for precision and electronics businesses -


The town of Nankan in Kumamoto Prefecture and Ebara Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Ebara) have concluded a site agreement for the construction of a new plant in Nankan town, Kumamoto Prefecture, and a signing ceremony was held on March 2nd in the presence of Kumamoto Governor Kabashima.
At the signing ceremony, President Maeda spoke about the importance of the construction of the new Kumamoto plant and expressed his gratitude to the local people of Kumamoto Prefecture and Nankan town.
Ebara opened its Kumamoto facility in 2001 as a mass production plant for CMP equipment. This expansion involves the construction of a new factory of roughly the same scale as the existing factory and a new service factory within the Kumamoto facility, which is scheduled to begin operations in December 2016.

(1) Overview of Kumamoto Office
Location: 4000-1 Hii, Nankan-machi, Tamana-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture
Site area: Approximately 140,000 square meters
(2) Overview of New Factory Plan
Facility details: Production of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and service and support for dry vacuum pumps
Building area: Approximately 12,000 square meters
Construction start date: March 2016
Scheduled start of operation: December 2016
Investment amount: Approximately 6.8 billion yen

[About the new factory]

The new factory is expected to be a highly flexible production facility capable of producing various types of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including the company's main production model, CMP equipment. We also plan to establish a new service factory as a base for overhauling dry vacuum pumps, mainly in the Kyushu and Chugoku regions.
