Received the "Eco-Business Excellence Award" from Nagoya City
Our group company, Chubu Recycle Co., Ltd. (President: Kiyoshi Hirayama, Head Office: Minato-ku, Nagoya City)*, has been awarded the "Excellent Eco Business Award" by the city of Nagoya.
Chubu Recycle Co., Ltd. operates a melting business that completely recycles incineration ash from waste incineration facilities and other facilities under the concept of zero emissions, and was certified as an "Excellent Eco Business" by the city of Nagoya in July 2015 for its efforts in environmental conservation. Furthermore, the company was awarded this Excellence Award as an especially excellent business establishment that serves as a role model for others and is proactively and independently working to be environmentally conscious.
The award ceremony was held in Nagoya City on February 3rd, and after the presentation of the award certificate and shield by Nagoya Deputy Mayor Tamiya, President and CEO Hirayama gave a presentation on examples of eco-friendly initiatives. At the presentation, the company introduced a number of initiatives, including visualization of melting furnace power consumption using power visualization devices and demand monitoring and control devices, and measures to cut peak electricity demand during periods of high electricity demand, as well as operational management based on voluntary standard values for air and water quality, and the development of biotopes, Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and rivers using molten reduced stone.
Through its ash melting and recycling business, the company will continue to pursue businesses that contribute to an environmentally friendly, resource-recycling society.
