We make March 23 every year the "Day of Reconfirming Basic Principles for Action".
On March 23, 2000, it was found that wastewater containing dioxin had been discharged for many years due to misconnection of the drainpipe attached to the in-house waste disposal incinerator installed in the Fujisawa Plant, Ebara Corporation.
We sincerely apologize for the fact that, as a company with a corporate philosophy of contributing to environmental preservation, we have caused such an accident, and brought terrible uneasiness to local residents, and inconvenience to a large number of stakeholders around us.
The waste disposal incinerator was dismantled and removed in August 2008. But at our company, this "Day of Reconfirming Basic Principles for Action" is made a day for all the officers and employees to keep in mind the seriousness of the accident, and check the work thoroughly in case this accident is forgotten for good.

The Medium-Term Management Plan is a concrete plan of business activities to be undertaken so that the EBARA Group can embody the EBARA Way in society. All of the policies and fundamental concepts of the Medium-Term Management Plan are linked to the EBARA Way. Through its business activities, the EBARA Group seeks to fulfill its social responsibilities.
THE E-Plan is the core of the Management Policy and is created every 3 years.
We hereby declare that Ebara Fan & Blower Co., Ltd. will be focusing efforts on the following initiatives in order to go about building new partnerships by promoting cooperation and mutually beneficial arrangements with suppliers in our supply chain and with business operators that are striving to create value.
We will be reaching out to the suppliers who supply our direct suppliers through our direct suppliers (from Tier N to Tier N+1) to increase the levels of added value provided throughout our supply chain and also aim to build mutually-beneficial arrangements with our suppliers through cooperative efforts which transcend existing transactional relationships, corporate scales, and other such elements. When going about doing that, we will also be promoting support such as the introduction of telecommuting arrangements for our suppliers and the providing of advice concerning the formulation of BCPs (Business Continuity Plans) based on the perspectives of ensuring business continuity in the event of a disaster and work style reform.
- We will cooperate with our suppliers in response to requests they have provided in relation to support for the decarbonization of production processes, green procurement and other areas.
- Our company is certified as a White 500 company. Given that certification as such is something that the Ebara Group is working on, we will be seeking new forms of cooperation by undertaking efforts such as the providing of expertise on health and productivity management and by jointly implementing measures aimed at the promotion of good health.
We will adhere to standards concerning desirable transaction practices undertaken between parent enterprises and subcontractors (the “Promotion Standards” based on the Act on the Promotion of Subcontracting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) and actively work to make corrections to transaction practices and business practices which hinder the establishment of partnerships with suppliers.
We will not make unreasonable requests for cost reduction. When determining the transaction prices, we will hold consultations with subcontractors at least once a year and will make decisions on the matter after having undertaken sufficient consultation. This is something we will do so as to make it possible to improve the subcontractors’ working conditions including appropriate margins for subcontractors. When doing that, decisions will be made after having taken appropriate action as set forth in the Guidelines Concerning Price Negotiation for the Appropriate Shifting of Labor Costs. Moreover, if any increases in terms of raw material costs or energy costs occur, our aim will be to ensure that an appropriate shifting of the cost increases take place in the full amount. When entering contracts, including determining the transaction prices, the terms and conditions of the contract will be clearly stated and delivered to the parties concerned in writing.
Based on the documents titled “Basic Concept and Basic Principles of Transactions Involving Molds” and the “Memorandum on the Handling of Molds” which are contained within the “Report of the Council for the Promotion of Appropriate Transactions Involving Molds,” we will promote the disposal of unnecessary molds and will not request that subcontractors store molds without compensation.
We will provide payment for subcontracting fees in cash to the extent possible. When making payments using bank drafts, subcontractors will not be required to shoulder the cost of discount charges, etc., and the term of payment in such cases will be kept within 60 days.
We will conduct transactions based on the “Basic Mindset” and “Contract Templates” set forth in the “Guidelines on Intellectual Property Transactions” and will not require the conclusion of unilateral non-disclosure agreements, nor will we require that any actions be undertaken such as the disclosure of expertise or the transfer of intellectual property rights without compensation in a manner involving the utilization of our position within a given transaction.
In order to ensure that our suppliers can address the matter of work style reform, we will not place orders with short delivery deadlines or issue sudden specification changes to subcontractors without ensuring the appropriate shouldering of costs arising in relation thereto. In the events such as disasters, we will not impose any unilateral burdens on subcontractors in transactions. We will also take into consideration, to the extent possible, the continuation of business relationships when operations are resumed.
At Ebara Fan & Blower, we are building partnerships with suppliers based on the procurement policies being worked on within the EBARA Group.
By conducting transactions in accordance with our CSR Procurement Guidelines, we are aiming to create arrangements with our suppliers that are mutually beneficial.

Our Company Regulations are clear guidelines that define how we function. These include the determinations of various responsibilities and authorities of each department and person in charge, as well as clear and concise rules.

As a member of the EBARA Group, we seek to achieve sustainable society through fans and blowers manufactured for a broad range of industrial sectors and applications. Our operating principle is to contribute to society through superior technologies and high quality services for applications involving water, air, and the environment.
In light of their importance to conserving the ecosystems that underlie all economic activity, we pursue quality control and environmental management activities as outlined below.
(1) We seek to clearly identify the organizations and functions involved in quality control and environmental management across all processes, ranging from order receipt through product design, manufacture, shipping, incidental services, and disposal. We conduct each related operation both rationally and economically.
(2) We seek to develop products and services that contribute to sustainable resource use and ideas that help solve society’s challenges, keeping in mind at all times the goals of high efficiency and reuse.
(3) We strive to reduce our environmental impact, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and fight climate change through energy conservation, resource conservation, waste reductions, reduction of non-compliant products, pollution prevention, and recycling. To advance these policies, we have established and maintain an ISO 9001 quality management system and an ISO 14001 environmental management system to further the following efforts.
