The New Year of 2020 has begun.
2020 will see continued uncertainty and unpredictability in the global political and economic situations, as we experienced last year. In addition, the growing incidence and intensity of extreme weather events is leading to even stronger calls to address climate change. In the meanwhile, with the launch of 5G telecommunications technology, our lifestyles will be further automated and efficient utilizing AI and IoT. In this era, I believe there are full of opportunities for Ebara to maximize our strengths to contribute to society.
For Ebara, 2020 is the first year to start both E-Vision2030, which is our vision for 2030, and E-Plan2022, the medium-term management plan that describes the first step to realize the vision. In E-Vision2030, Ebara will conduct management that contributes to society and increase corporate value, considering the environment, society, and governance (ESG) to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In the next decades, Ebara will support in sustainable ways social infrastructure to ensure safety and security as well as industries to bring evolving and abundant lifestyles. We will also create a corporate culture with competitive and challenge mindsets that diverse employees can maximize their skills feeling motivated to work. With our technologies, we will reduce carbon dioxide by using renewable energy, and contribute to society for a goal of carbon-free society by 2050.
Let’s support our globe with technology and passion. In the meanwhile, we need to think and act on our own, and interact with our customers sincerely as well as all the stakeholders both inside and outside the company.
