Toichi Maeda
President and Representative Director
I, Toichi Maeda, was appointed to the post of President and Representative Director of EBARA CORPORATION on April 1, 2013.
EBARA CORPORATION was established as a manufacturer of pumps way back in 1912 and, thanks to the support of all concerned, celebrated its centenary last year, in November 2012. Placed in charge of management this year, which marks the start of our journey into EBARA's next 100 years, I have renewed my determination with a keen awareness of the weight of my responsibilities. Standing on the foundation laid by my predecessors in their management activities so far, I am committed to the further expansion of our business and earnings as we head into the succeeding 100 years. I hope that I can continue to count on your warm support in these endeavors.
In keeping with the policies of E-Plan 2013, our medium-term management plan initiated in April 2011, EBARA is going to promote the prompt and efficient provision of goods and services to our customers by deploying a region-oriented strategy grounded in the precept "Regional production for regional supply" in the world. We also intend to heighten our competitiveness through production process innovation movement and cultivate business in the infrastructure, energy, and semiconductor markets, which have good prospects for growth.
Another agendum is to attain higher levels of transparency and objectivity in management and to make corporate governance even tighter. We also must fulfill our corporate social responsibility (CSR) by taking active approaches to programs for promotion of community life, culture, sports, and technology in addition to our efforts to assist recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake through our business. This will enable EBARA to progress and grow together with society as a good corporate citizen.
