1912 - 1940s

1912
(the first year of the Taisho period)
Inokuty Type Machinery Office founded
(Issey Hatakeyama was appointed general manager, under the supervision of Ariya Inokuty, a professor of Tokyo Imperial University.)
1920
(the 9th year of the Taisho era)
EBARA CORPORATION established
(A plant was constructed at Minami-shinagawa, Shinagawa-cho, Ebara-gun, Tokyo, marking the establishment of the Company, which assumed the responsibilities of the Inokuty Type Machinery Office and began the manufacturing of centrifugal pumps.)
1938
(the 13th year of the Showa era)
New plant built in Haneda, Kamata-ku, Tokyo
(The head office and manufacturing operations shifted from Shinagawa to the new facility in Haneda.)
1941
(the 16th year of the Showa era)
New plant built in Kawasaki
(The new plant began manufacturing machine tools in accordance with the Machine Tool Manufacturing Law.)
1945
(the 20th year of the Showa era)
Haneda Plant damaged in war
(All operations, except for a pump testing facility, fabrication and welding shop, and main building, deemed no longer functional. As a result, production was transferred to the Kawasaki Plant.)

1950s - 1970s

Haneda Plant reopened
(The Haneda Plant was resurrected to spearhead the Company's manufacturing operations.)
1956

EBARA-Infilco Co., Ltd. established
(A fifty-fifty joint venture between the EBARA CORPORATION and Infilco Inc., of the United States, was set up to manufacture and sell water treatment equipment.)
1964
(the 39th year of the Showa era)
Bangkok Office opened
(EBARA's first post-WWII overseas sales office)
1964

EBARA Service Corporation established to provide after-sales services for EBARA's products
1965

Fujisawa Plant opened
(The first facility in Japan to mass produce standard pumps, it took over the production of chillers from the Haneda Plant.)

EBARA Industrias Mecanicas e Comercio Ltda. established in Brazil
(EBARA's first overseas production facility after WWII)
Sodegaura Plant opened

EBARA Italia S.p.A. established

Environment Business Division established
(To strengthen EBARA's environmental engineering capabilities)

Ebara Qingdao Co., Ltd. established in China
(To establish a manufacturing base for various types of boilers)

The Company shifted to the three-business-division system consisting of fluid machinery and systems, environmental engineering, and precision machinery.

The Company merged with EBARA Infilco
(The company name was changed to "EBARA" at the time of the merger. Its formal name is "EBARA CORPORATION".)

2000s -

(the 12th year of the Heisei era)
EBARA Techno-serve Co., Ltd. established by consolidating the standard machinery sales division and the EBARA Service Corporation
(To combine sales and maintenance services in order to reinforce the standard machinery business)
New Elliot Corporation became a wholly owned subsidiary.
(To expand the compressor and turbine business)
2002
(the 14th year of the Heisei era)
The refrigeration business division was split off to establish Ebara Refrigeration Equipment & Systems Co., Ltd.
2003
(the 15th year of the Heisei era)
Ebara Great Pumps Co., Ltd. established in China
(To establish a base in China to manufacture and sell API pumps)
2005
(the 17th year of the Heisei era)
In-house company system introduced
Ebara Boshan Pumps Co., Ltd. established in China
(To establish a base in China to manufacture and sell large-scale, high-pressure pumps)
2006
(the 18th year of the Heisei era)
Ebara Machinery (China) Co., Ltd. established as a business corporation to manufacture, sell, and provide maintenance services for standard pumps in China
2006
(the 18th year of the Heisei era)
Ebara Hydro-Tech Co., Ltd. acquired Yoshikura Corporation to expand the base of the domestic pump business and became Ebara Yoshikura Hydro-Tech Co., Ltd.

The domestic water and sewage processing department of the Environmental Engineering Company was split off as a separate company.
2009
(the 21st year of the Heisei era)
EBARA integrated its water treatment plant businesses into Ebara Engineering Service Co., Ltd. and its solid waste treatment businesses into Ebara Environmental Plant Co., Ltd.
2010
(the 22nd year of the Heisei era)
Futtsu Plant (Chiba, Japan) newly established and functions of the former Haneda Plant transferred there
(The Futtsu Plant becomes the mother plant of EBARA's global production network to lead and support domestic and overseas production bases.)
2010
(the 22nd year of the Heisei era)
Ebara Engineering Service Co., Ltd. became an integrated water business corporation based on the partnership of Mitsubishi Corporation, JGC Corporation and EBARA.

Company merged with Ebara Kyushu Co., Ltd.
