R&D of the EBARA Group can be divided into three major categories:
- Basic research aimed at discovering and establishing seed technologies for the long term,
- Development research focused on the application of technologies and the creation of new products, and
- R&D to provide support for the development of existing businesses.
R&D in the first category above is implemented mainly by consolidated subsidiary EBARA Research Co., Ltd. R&D in the second and third categories is conducted through coordinated teamwork among individual business divisions, Group companies, and EBARA Research.
