The ÉCAROS series solar pumps

EBARA Bombas América do Sul Ltda. (EBAS), an overseas group company of EBARA CORPORATION (EBARA) in Brazil, launches the ÉCAROS series of solar pumps, which generate power from solar energy.

1. Background
To contribute to realization of secure, safe lives that are the priority issues specified in our long-term vision E-Vision2030, EBARA aims to meet the local demands in each country and deliver water to people all over the world. In Brazil, there are areas that are still without electricity. To satisfy the basic needs for daily lives, such as the securing of drinking water, EBAS developed and launched solar pumps in January, 2020.

2. Outline
The solar pumps generate power from solar energy. They convert solar light into electricity and run with solar panels made of semi-conductive silicon. EBAS employs multicrystal solar panels,* which are common in Brazil, because of their cost competitiveness and versatility. In addition to the 220V deep well pumps, which have been manufactured by EBAS since its foundation, the panels are used for power centrifugal pumps and pumps for swimming pools.

3. Future plan
By the end of this year, 380V-equivalent product, which can be used to power pumps that have greater power consumption, will be launched as well. Through EBAS's sales and service networks, we will further expand sales in Brazil. In the meanwhile, at webinars, which took place in August and were conducted in Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish as well as English, showed high interest in the products from attendees overseas. In the future, the products might be considered to launch in countries other than Brazil.

EBARA practices ESG management by providing highly efficient products and services that contribute to address climate change. We aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and will continue to expand the development of power-saving products we have been working for long years.

EBARA Group aims to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through tackling ESG material issues based on our Long-term vision and Mid-term management plan, is working on further improving our corporate value.

There are two types of solar panels: multicrystal and monocrystal. Multicrystal solar panels are easy to produce and highly versatile. It is suitable for large-scale installation. Monocrystal solar panels, which have superior durability, long service lives, and a beautiful appearance, are used on the roofs of houses and commercial/industrial facilities.
